Flavors of the Month at Member of the Month: Horse Trade Theater Group

With names like “Shotz“, “Wasabassco Hellfire Club“, and “Naked Girls Reading,” one imagines a seedy lounge full of smarmy middle-aged men in smoking jackets and/or fraternity brothers. However, this is anything but the case for Horse Trade Theater Group‘s rotation of monthly and ongoing programming. In addition to a gambit of cabaret and burlesque programming that is sophisticated and comedic, a number of residencies by various theater groups provides a colorful variety of fun, entertaining sketch-shows, freshly created short plays, and plenty of improv. Some highlights include Moth favorite Adam Wade has his one-man show, telling his favorite stories of growing up in Pennsylvania and beyond and if you’re a fan of the Daily Show, make sure to check out The Skinny, and get your fill of live, sarcastic twists on the daily news.

In short, there’s something for everyone, whether you prefer parody-style newscasts, improvised rock bands, open mics, or variety shows, you will not be disappointed with all that Horse Trade has to offer.
